"A powerful turret that builds an electric charge when a target comes close and unloads a powerful lightning strike onto it after a short while. The automated tower is NOT capable of discerning friend from foe."
- Armory Description
Stratagem Code[ | ]
Players must enter the following sequence, using the controller d‑pad, in order to call down this Stratagem up to three times per mission:
Unlock Requirement[ | ]
The A/AC-6 Tesla Tower is granted to the player as a reward for completing all the missions on its associated planet (typically a high level planet - difficulty 10 to 11).
In Helldivers 2, the Tesla Tower can be purchased after reaching Level 15 for 8,000 Requisition points.
Helldivers 2[ | ]
In Helldivers 2, the Tesla Tower functions very similarly to the first game, unleashing powerful electric shocks to anything that enters its radius, friend or foe. It provides a powerful area denial tool, at the cost of posing a heavy threat to Helldivers, who will instantly be killed by the tower if they come too close. The tower's radius is not visible, making it difficult to determine exactly how close "too close" is.
The only way to avoid being killed by the tower when nearby is to remain prone, which will prevent the tower from attacking you.

Gameplay Tips[ | ]
- Like all turrets, Tesla Towers are dangerous to friend and foe alike. Going prone within the Tesla Tower's area-of-effect (a glowing circle surrounding the Tesla Tower) will prevent the Helldiver being targeted by its lightning strikes.
- The tower will emit a high-pitched charging sound before it fires; heed this warning!
- Tesla Towers cannot be placed in close proximity, as they will zap each other.
- The Tesla Tower will not target stationary objectives such as the Launchpad or Geological Survey, making it one of the better defensive options for defending them against Bugs. Note that it will zap Resource Convoys!
- Not as effective against Cyborgs or Illuminate as they have multiple ranged units which can destroy the Tesla Tower. A REP-80 can mitigate the Illuminate's sniper fire and most Cyborgs' attacks, but will not stop an IFV from crushing the turret beneath its treads.
- The Cyborg Legionnaires, introduced in the 2018 Liberty Day expansion A New Hell, are invulnerable to most frontal attacks and will call in overwhelming amounts of reinforcements. Tesla Towers will fry these patrol units in just two hits—a very desirable defensive option for difficulties 13 and up.
- Few enemies are safe from the Tesla Tower's lethal bolts; even the Bugs' heavily armored Tanks, Impalers and Behemoths will be neutralized in a few hits (if the Tesla Tower survives long enough).
- The Tesla Tower is not able to damage Cyborg IFVs, which will simply run them over.
- Tesla Towers will disappear after about 150 seconds if not destroyed.
- Tesla Towers have a tertiary use, similar to the NUX-223 Hellbomb stratagem. Enemy patrols and weaker enemies will gather around the Tesla, slowly whittling down its hit points instead of raising the alarm when they spot a Helldiver. The Tesla will kill most enemies without heavy armor immediately if they get within its range.
