Armor (Helldivers)

Armor is a purely cosmetic appearance option typically consisting of a helmet, body armor and cape. Most armors are unlocked when the player reaches certain Ranks, while some are awarded for participation in Galactic Campaigns and others are made available immediately after purchase of the relevant DLC.

Armor (non-DLC)

Tactical

The standard-issue Helldiver outfit, available to all players regardless of rank.
Three alternate cape designs (Combat, Drop School and Operator) are also available at any rank.

Desert

Unlocked when the player reaches rank 3 (Corporal).

Unlocked when the player reaches rank 6 (Staff Sergeant).

Arctic

Unlocked when the player reaches rank 9 (Ensign).

Black Ops

The body armor and helmet are unlocked when the player reaches rank 20 (Field General); the cape is unlocked at rank 23 (Lord Marshal).

Veteran

The Veteran body armor/helmet and Torn cape are awarded to players who have participated in an unsuccessful Galactic Campaign or reached rank 25 (Grand Lord). Players that participated in a war that was won will receive the Ceremonial Armor instead.

Volcanic

Unlocked when the player reaches rank 27 (Local Hero).

Heroic

The body armor, helmet and cape are unlocked when the player reaches ranks 28, 29 and 30 (Regional Hero, Warfront Hero, Hero of the Sector) respectively.

Admiral

Unlocked when the player reaches rank 50 (Admiral of Super Earth).

Ceremonial

Awarded to players who have participated in a successful Galactic Campaign. Players that participated in a war that was lost will receive the Veteran Armor and Torn cape instead.

Faction-Specific Capes

The Bug Ecologist, Cyborg Peacekeeper and Illuminate Negotiator capes are awarded to players upon completion of a "Helldive" (level 12 difficulty) planet against their respective enemy faction.

Faction-specific capes are also referred to as Slayer capes in the official patch notes (e.g. patch 2.01).

Assault

Made available to all players, for free on 3rd March 2016, to mark the one-year anniversary of HELLDIVERS' release.

Liberty Cape

Made available to all players, for free on 26th October 2016, to celebrate Liberty Day.

Next-Gen

Made available to all players, for free on 3rd March 2017, to mark the two-year anniversary of HELLDIVERS' release.

Proving Grounds Specific Capes

Awarded to players who have participated in Proving Grounds and placed top 1 in the leaderboards till the end of Galactic Campaign War, added on 25th October 2019, to celebrate Liberty Day.

Armor (Special)

Community Cape

Given as a reward to outstanding individuals who have participated in -- or helped out -- the HELLDIVERS community in various ways. Whether that be reporting bugs, guiding new recruits, winning competitions or actively participating and engaging in forum discussions, these individuals can now be distinguished from other recruits.

Developer Cape

Only worn by Arrowhead staff, so they can be recognized in the wild. It looks exactly like a mirrored version of the Community Cape (see above). The color scheme is also inverted, consisting of three vertical yellow stripes with black trimming around the edges.
